Downpipe Blockage in Cringleford

This gutter was overflowing during rain and thereafter retained water. The door below had begun to rot and needed replacing.


...which was traced below the soil level behind a shrub.

Tap root from adjacent shrub found entering the end of the downpipe
Climbing plants had covered the end of the gutter where the outlet joined the downpipe...





And finally a water test was conducted to verify correct fall and flow of water.
Roots had completely filled the downpipe...
...for quite some distance.
Next we lowered the outlet a little and reinstated the downpipe, with the addition of an angled fall...
...siting the downpipe end through the shrub above ground level.
